If you are ever bored and looking for something to do, I find that Google searching a random topic can be quite entertaining. For instance, the other day I decided to search “weird facts about money” and I thought I would share some of my findings with you.
One article I came across quoted some very bizarre statistics about what people would be willing to do for ten million bucks. According to the article, most people would be willing to change their race or gender, as well as abandon their family and friends for anything from three million to ten million dollars, but they wouldn’t be willing to do so for a mere two million.
Another weird fact is that supposedly 65% of Americans would be willing to live on a deserted island all by themselves for an entire year for a million bucks. I somehow doubt that, as most of us wouldn’t even survive alone for an entire year without help of some sort. After all, a million dollars really isn’t that much money. Many of us will make more than that in our lifetime.
Another “fact” I found is that 92% of people would rather be rich than find the love of their lives. Once again I hardly doubt this could be true. What’s the point of being rich if you have no one to share it with?
I do admit that people do crazy things for money all the time, however if you can maintain a healthy perspective of money throughout your life, you can attain wealth without making crazy sacrifices like abandoning your family.
What would you be willing to do for a million dollars?
