An Easy Way To Budget For Groceries

My husband and I like to eat, and I would say that we are both fairly big eaters.  We eat a lot of fresh produce and keep our fridge stocked full of a wide variety of veggies and fruits.

That being said, sometimes I find it difficult to keep our grocery spending in control.  In order to control our spending, we came up with a plan.  Here goes:

We decided to limit our spending to $400 per month for groceries.  Each month I keep track of every grocery purchase I make.  At the end of the month, I total the amount and see how we did.  By keeping track of our grocery spending throughout the month, it has been easier for me to know where we’re at.  It eliminated any guessing.

5 Ways To Reduce Your Weekly Food Bill

There are no two ways about it, most of the world is in the grips of the worst recession the country has ever seen. The economy has contracted for a second time, hence the ‘double dip’ recession and unemployment is at a record 8.2% in the UK and with further government public sector cuts on the way, this is set to increase. The weekly shop is a necessary family activity. Superstore Is Not Always The Best Place To Buy Groceries

In the past I wrote an article about reasons that I shopped at Superstore for all of my groceries.  However, my opinion has now changed.  In the province where my husband and I previously resided, shopping at Superstore was the best choice for us as we took advantage of Superbucks that we received from the Superstore gas station and compared to other popular grocery stores, Superstore really was the cheapest alternative.

However, ever since we moved to a different Canadian province, I have found that Superstore is no longer the best option for us.  Instead, I have found much better prices at a wide variety of other stores, including No Frills, Food Basics, and Produce Depot, to name a few.

When we first moved, I did my shopping at Superstore and was very disappointed in the poor quality and limited variety of the produce.  The prices were much higher than I expected.  Sure, they had a few really low priced items and they still did have the freebies for those who spent a certain minimum, however, there just wasn’t enough low priced items to make me want to shop there again.

A Quick And Easy Way To View Flyers Online And Save Money

Right now my husband and I live in apartment, so we don’t receive the grocery store flyers in our mailbox.  Because I like to be informed of the sales before I go shopping, I simply go to www.flyerland.ca and look at the flyers online.  The website is quick and really easy to use and it allows me to make a list of the best deals before I shop.  In fact, I prefer using flyerland to receiving paper copies of the flyers.  It’s better for the environment and easier to skim through.

Flyerland also contains various coupons  and contests that you may be interested in.  Although there are many coupon websites for Americans, Canadians sadly have very few.  So, to all you Canadians out there looking for the best deals, I would definitely encourage you to check out Flyerland.
