When you want to treat yourself and your family but do not want to spend the money to eat out all the time, a great way to enjoy a meal without spending a lot of money is to make a special restaurant-like meal at home.
One that works great at our home is replicating an all -you -can eat buffet where you get to make your own stir-fry. We use our trusty Toastmaster griddle and I slice up all sorts of veggies such as onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc. I then slice beef very thinly and sometimes I also slice up chicken breasts.
Then, we mix and match the ingredients to make multiple stir-fries at the table as we eat. This way we get to eat a wide variety of different dishes with different flavors, and it’s easy to clean up.
Whenever we do this, I feel just as satisfied as if we’ve eaten out, and I often enjoy the taste just as much, if not more. It’s fun to get creative when it comes to our menu. All too often I find myself making the same things over and over again because they are familiar. I never have been one for following recipes, so it’s great when we mix things up a little.
Also, if you find yourself craving an Egg McMuffin at McDonald’s, I would recommend buying English muffins at a grocery store and making your own. Just pop the muffin in the toaster and then fry and egg and some bacon or ham. Melt some cheese over top and I can guarantee it will taste one hundred times better than any breakfast sandwich you can buy at McDonald’s!
Eating out a lot can get really expensive, so why not try your own special experiment and see how your family likes it?
