Toy stores are continually coming up with all sorts of marketing and product ideas that excite children and parents as well. This strategy makes it harder for a parent to resist buying them.

This constant routine would cost the household a hefty amount of money, especially if the toys or the child’s interest in it, don’t last long. While parents try their best for their kids, buying every toy at a point of a finger is not a good parenting practice.

But if you can’t resist the poor face children make when they can’t get what they want, there’s a better alternative. Show them how to create toys on their own and not worry about buying overpriced stuff as they grow older.

Bobbleheads have always been a fun toy. Its oversized head makes a cute and funny display on your desk, dashboard, or shelf. There are plenty of ways to create a bobblehead. The most important material is a single spring that used to connect the head to a body.

The easiest and less complicated material to use is cardboard. Creating the head and the body is as natural as drafting it on the cardboard. Cut it out, assemble using glue and attach the head on the body using the spring. Make sure to add weights to the built to keep it from toppling.

For a more complex project, cardboard guns can provide enough excitement for an aspiring engineer. You can create your design with complete trigger and firing mechanisms. You can create all sorts of plans with different model guns.

You can make all sorts of car models with cardboard. You can toughen it up so it can endure a rough play or adorn it to display it on a shelf.

Keyboard/Sudoko Rubik’s Cube

Bored playing with an ordinary Rubik’s cube? It would be best if you found an old Rubik’s cube and broken keyboards somewhere in your home.

Arrange the numeric pieces of the keyboard in a sudoku pattern (you should have one profile for each side of the cube) and stick individually on each section of the hub.

Colorful Paper Spinners

You can leave the activity of creating colorful paper spinners for your kids. Crafting paper spinners is an excellent way to keep your kids occupied on a rainy day. These require minimal materials and less supervision. Of course, you still need to watch them with the scissors, but basically, it is an incredibly easy project.
