Can Going Cash-Only Really Help You Get On Your Feet?

Getting into too much debt is never a good thing. You need to have sufficient savings and the ability to pay your bills with money left over each month. If you have too much debt, is it a good idea to completely ditch the credit cards for a while? What are the odds that sticking to using cash exclusively will help you change your financial outlook?

Cash Helps You Control Your Spending

Using cash is a good idea because it will help you set limits when it comes to your spending. When you run out of cash, you are no longer able to purchase anything. You also give yourself the opportunity to set limits that may be below what you have in the bank. For example, you could bring $20 to the grocery store when you go shopping. This forces you to budget when you are buying food for yourself this week.

Use Free Online Recipes

There is no longer any need to buy recipe books as you can find thousands of excellent recipes online for free.  My favorite website is allrecipes.com.  Whenever I think of something I want to make but I am not quite sure how, I simply enter in the dish in the search bar and within seconds a whole bunch of different recipes come up.  Most recipes also have reviews and comments that help you to select the one you think you will like the best.  So far everything I have made has turned out great.

Some of my favorite recipes that I have already tested from the site include:

Megan’s Granola  – It tastes really good.  I didn’t use pecans and I added some goji berries.  It’s great for breakfast and you don’t need to eat a lot to feel full.

Great Job Hunting Websites

I am in the process of looking for a job and one of the best websites I have come across so far is indeed.com.  The site makes it very easy to search and it’s like a one-stop shop.  Rather than having to go to several individual sites, it incorporates results across several different job sites including extremejobs.ca, jobbank.gc.ca, etc.

Indeed.com also has neat advanced search features including the feature that allows you only view new jobs since your last visit.  This function saves me a ton of time as I have so many other things on the go besides job hunting.

There were plenty of reasons to quit. If you’re a smoker, you’ve heard them all. All of the health effects – coronary and pulmonary diseases, yellowing of the nails and teeth, cancer – weren’t enough to stop me.

It was the actual cost of cigarettes that converted me into a non-smoker.

It was just a normal day. I was driving to work, but I pulled over and went into a gas station to buy a pack of cigarettes. When I pushed a ten dollar bill across the counter, I was shocked to only get two dollars and some change back. I thought, “There must be some mistake. It’s not that expensive, is it?”
