Saving Money At Universal Studios

While traveling in Los Angeles, my husband and I decided to stop and spend a day at Universal Studios.  We knew it would be pricy, but we thought it would be worth the time and money we would spend.  We opted for the $74 day pass, although the lady at the booth sure tried her hardest to get us to buy the $119 pass so that we wouldn’t have to wait in line.  I am glad we didn’t go for that, though, as we went on a Thursday and hardly had to wait at all to see any of the attractions.

Eating At A Seafood Buffet Is Cheaper Than Buying Seafood At Retail Prices

Most of the time it costs more to eat out at a restaurant then to eat at home, especially when you consider the taxes and tip, but it all depends on what you are planning to eat.  For instance, if you are craving crab legs and you go to your local grocery store, you will discover that paying retail price for crab legs is extremely expensive.  If you want to eat crab legs, you are better off going to an all-you-can-eat buffet that serves crab legs, where you can enjoy as much crab as you like plus other dishes as well.

It Pays To Use A Travel Guide

My husband and I enjoy taking at least one road trip every summer.  We have found that we end up saving money if we buy a travel guide for the places we are planning to go.  That way we can study our destinations in advance as well as find the amenities we need while we are on the road.

We have saved money by being educated about the least expensive places to visit, sleep, camp, etc.  One of our guide books helped us save a lot of money as it informed us that we can buy an annual pass for visiting parks in the United States.  For $80 US we can go to as many parks as we want without having to pay each time.  Without this knowledge we would have had no clue and would have ended up spending a lot more than just $80.

Bundle Your Services And Save

If you want phone, cable TV and Internet, you may find it is cheaper to subscribe to all three services using just one company.  By “bundling” your services, companies often offer deep discounts, at least for the first year or so.  Companies will do whatever they can to earn your business, and they would love to be your sole telecom provider, so compare the various providers in your area to find the best deal.  Then, if you have currently signed up with more than one provider, consider switching all of your products to the company that can give you the best price.

A Cheap Way To Watch Movies

If you are a movie lover, an affordable way to watch as many movies as you want, is to use a company called Netflix.  For just $7.99 a month, you can watch an unlimited number of movies, documentaries, and TV shows, and your first month is free.

My husband recently signed us up and now when we have some spare time we can sign in and watch a movie to relax.  Netflix is great because it offers easy access to a movie with the click of a button and it’s both legal and a really inexpensive entertainment option.
